The pad is glued to the squab frame and then needs to be trimmed to follow the outer edge of the frame. The white wadding material is then laid over this edge and softens the edge of the pad before the seat cover is fitted. I would give 5 stars, except I don't ever give 5. But these are 4.87. My feet don't like hard soles, but these boots are pretty comfy. I buy "dress" boots to ride a motorcycle, long story. My favorite was discontinued, and I dislike designer anything. But, these weren't toooo expensive, and turns out, they're comfortable enough, good-looking, and excellent for motorcycling.
